Adams Buckner Advisors supports their clients with legislative, budgetary and land use matters and provides assistance with building coalitions and strengthening community relations.
Amelia and Yvette help clients navigate the local, state and federal legislative process through effective internal and external lobbying. They’ve led winning and successful campaigns on issues ranging from education and healthcare to transportation and artificial intelligence for major unions, start-up tech firms, Fortune 100 companies and many, many more.
Over the past 20 years, Amelia and Yvette have played critical roles on political teams. They have won campaigns for members of Congress, Mayors, Attorney Generals, District Attorneys, State Legislators and City Council Members. Currently, they are working on campaigns for the two highest elected officials in New York and fighting for our democracy – New York State Governor Kathy Hochul and New York State Attorney General Letitia James. Additionally, as the Board Chair and Vice Chair of the New Majority NYC (formerly 21 in ‘21), Amelia and Yvette advised, mentored and guided women running for the New York City Council in 2021 and helped to make her-story by working to get 31 women elected to office – the largest majority of women elected in the Council’s history and the largest number of women to serve in a legislative body of major cities in the country.
Both Amelia and Yvette started their careers as Community Organizers and know what it takes to build effective coalitions and alliances. They bring those unique experiences, talents, knowledge and expertise to the firm and help their clients tackle a tough political landscape to engage with issues on everything from housing, healthcare, women’s rights and immigration. By working with local community organizations, faith-based leaders, union representatives and influencers, they are able to amplify a particular issue and get successful results for their clients.
